The Africa Day Cultural Festival is an annual event celebrated on the last week-end in May World Wide, daytime to dawn.  Since May,25th, 1963 when it was founded by the Organization of African Unity in Adis Ababa, Ethiopia, it’s mission is to promote and share the culture of all people of Africa with the global community.

This event is fully committed to fostering cross cultural understanding of Africa as a continent and its people for the DFW public, to impact the cities of Dallas/Fort worth Metroplex and surrounding counties positively, culturally, and economically through continuous effort to increase local, national and International tourist attendance.

We believe it is an opportunity to celebrate everything that is wonderful about Africa and to join people around the world in exploring its diverse cultural riches.  It is not only an entertaining event but an educational experience, a market Bazaar, and fun atmosphere filled with abundant cultures from 54 countries and over 1000 ethnic traditions.

This event shares through diversity, the presentation of Arts and Crafts, Culture dances,  speakers, live music, Education and Information, Ethnic food, children’s village, story tellers, drum workshops, health screening, traditional commodities in the marketplace Bazaar,

The Festival ground location has booths with high quality multicultural goods, the festival information center, authentic hand-crafted Arts and crafts, artisans, vendors, live performing artists featured throughout the days of the festival.

Participants including, drummers, dancers, children, associations, bands, singers, and various groups are expected from all African diaspora communities in the Dallas/Fort worth metro, the surrounding counties and Africa.

We invite and encourage all Pan African diaspora communities to join us in creating excitement and fun for the American public to share our culture. All groups, performers of any kind that would like to showcase their talent during the festival days are welcome. The thousands of people who will attend our festivities will enjoy your participation.

Come and explore the cultural village, you can be a vendor, sample a variety of ethnic foods, shop around the Market Bazaar, let the kids play in the Hakuna Matata Village and enjoy lots of great entertainment.

You can also plan your next family reunion or your business marketing, Country reunion, all in one place here. About 5,000 people per day are expected. Visitors to this DFW Africa Day Cultural Festival will come from across USA, all parts of the World as far away as Asia, Africa, Europe, Caribbean Islands, Latin and South America most of them already part of the Dallas/ Fort Worth community and the surrounding counties.

During the two (2) days of the festival, you may bring some of the comforts from home. Lawn chairs or blankets are suggested to sit on.  Sun umbrellas, tents, canopies may be erected in designated areas, but must be taken down at 8.00pm everyday.

No pets are allowed, there will be vendors in all categories selling a wide selection of beverages including foods of all selection at reasonable prices. Alcohol drinks are allowed in cans no bottled containers
